How MM to Pixels for Canva Calculator Works

To convert millimeters to Canva pixels, this calculator computes the pixel value to enter in Canva's Custom Size dialog. Canva lets you create designs in pixels, inches, centimeters, or millimeters — but the underlying canvas is always pixel-based.

1

Enter the mm value

Enter your target size in millimeters. Common examples include 210 × 297 mm for an A4 document, 100 × 100 mm for a square sticker, or any custom physical dimension you need for print.

2

Select the DPI

Choose the DPI. Canva defaults to 96 DPI for screen designs. For print-quality output (PDF Print), Canva exports at 300 DPI. If you're designing for print, use 300 DPI to calculate the pixel dimensions that will match your mm target at print resolution.

3

Read the pixel result

Read the pixel result and enter it as the Custom Size in Canva. When Canva exports your design as PDF Print at 300 DPI, the physical output will match your original millimeter specification.

Canva internally manages resolution during export. When you choose "PDF Print," Canva exports at 300 DPI regardless of the canvas pixel size. For accurate print sizing, calculate your dimensions at 300 DPI and enter the pixel values as a Custom Size.

MM to Pixels for Canva Formula

The Canva mm to pixels formula is: pixels = mm × (DPI ÷ 25.4). Use 96 DPI for screen designs and 300 DPI for print-quality Canva exports.

px = mm × ( DPI ÷ 25.4 )

This mm to px formula has 3 variables:

  • mm — the physical size you want the final printed or displayed design to be
  • DPI — 96 for screen/social media, 300 for Canva PDF Print export
  • 25.4 — millimeters per inch, the universal conversion constant

MM to Pixels for Canva Formula Examples

A4 width at 300 DPI

px = 210 × (300 ÷ 25.4) px = 210 × 11.811 px = 2480.315

100 mm at 96 DPI

px = 100 × (96 ÷ 25.4) px = 100 × 3.7795 px = 377.9528

Business card at 300 DPI

px = 85 × (300 ÷ 25.4) px = 85 × 11.811 px = 1003.937

The reverse formula is: mm = px × (25.4 ÷ DPI). If your Canva design is 1080 px wide and you export at 300 DPI, the printed width will be 1080 ÷ 11.811 = 91.4 mm. For an exact 100 mm print width, set your Custom Size to 1181 px.
